So happy it’s the weekend, whew! Why is it that short weeks can feel sooooo long! When the kids went back to school on Tuesday I was off to the races! I was busy working on a few decorating projects as well as trying to tie up a few loose ends here at my own house. I have been making pretty slow progess with our family room, but thanks to a little shopping from Structube, I am almost ready to call this space done. Let me introduce you to the newest memeber of our furniture family….The “Polo” armchair!
Our family room is probably my favorite room in our home and it definitely sees the most action on a day-today basis.
I made a big change back in February when I sold our sectional sofa and bought the Vimle sofa from Ikea, which you can read about here.
I am still loving this sofa, btw, and am so happy I made this change. The last major element I wanted for this room was a comfy armchair.
As with many furniture purchases I make for our home, I hummed and hawed a little about what I wanted. I really loved this chair that I used in a recent decorating project…
however it is out of stock until July and I didn’t want to wait to call this room done. So I went back to the drawing board and started looking at all the options from Structube. I decided that black upholstry would be a great contrast to my light grey sofa and my grey bookcases, and I loved the shape of the Polo Chair. I ordered it online a few weeks ago and was able to pick it up in store this past Thursday. As soon as I got it home and into place, I loved it!
It is the perfect mix between traditional with the wing back shape…
and the tufted buttons…
but the legs give it a midcentury vibe, which I really love.
My goal was to have an extra seat to create a bit of a conversation area for when we have guests over. Mission accomplised!
Of course I had to style the new chair a pillow and blanket.
I recently discovered that my local Anthropologie store was carrying Joanna Gaines throw pillows, so I treated myself to this one and it looks perfect in the chair.
The throw blanket is from Ikea of all places, it’s the perfect lightweight throw for spring and summer and stripes are always a win in my book.
So there you have it, my family room is almost done thanks to this new addition! As I mentioned, Structube has really great accent chairs and their prices are so good. Here are some of my other favorites:
I am so happy with my new chair from Structube and have included a few of the above chairs in an upcoming project propsal. It’s so nice to have a new budget friendly retailer to shop here in Canada! Do any of the above chairs speak to you? Would love to hear your favorites in the comments below!
Thanks for reading!
