Welcome May! I am defintely feeling all the Spring feels right now, although I wish the weather was a bit warmer. Seeing as my family back East was dealing with snow mid April, I shouldn’t complain!
I am currently in Seattle with my son on a basketball trip and I am having so much fun watching him play, even though they lost their first two games. I am also excited to pay a visit to Target tomorrow morning, and hopefully also a World Market. Have to get in my shopping fix!
Today I am checking in with a round up of all the things that I am loving lately, so grab a cup of coffee and lets dive in!
This is one of my favorite categories and Spring/Summer fashion is my fave! Especially dresses. I have been combing all of my favorite stores for summer dresses and there are some good ones out there! I am seeing this particular cut everywhere I go, it’s called an Apron Dress…
And I am a big fan! I love the button front and classic shape. I will be adding one of these to my closet, but I can’t decide which one! The one above is from The Gap but I also love this one from Aritzia…
I bought this dress earlier in the week and haven’t had a chance to try it on, but I have high hopes that it will be a new favorite.
It has a subtle pattern and according to the saleslady that helped me at checkout, it is a universally flattering fit! We will see. In my last ‘What I’m Loving Lately” I shared a photo of these jeans from Anthropologie …
I recently bought them and they have become my new favorite pair. I love the seam down the front, it elevates the look a little, but the best thing about them is how stretchy and comfortable they are. High praise for these jeans ladies!
Next up is the home decor category, and there are some good things to share. The first is that my local Anthropologie is carrying the Joanna Gaines throw pillows that I read all about on her blog. I splurged on this one and absolutley love it!
One of my clients (hi Natasha) fell in love with it too when I shared it on instagram, so we got one for her too! My next favorite thing to share with you is this online print company, Juniper Print Shop. They have beautiful artwork and their instagram feed is so fun to scroll. I have ordered a few prints both for myself and for a client project. This print is called “Hills 1” and I have ordered it on Canvas from Costco and can’t wait to see how it looks…
I have also ordered these two prints below and I want to frame them and hang them in my master bathroom:
If you are looking to freshen up your walls, you must check out this online shop!
The item I wanted to share in this category is the Tint Skin Hydrating Foundation from Beauty counter.
I bought this about a year and a half ago and fell in love with it. Then I was nearing the end of the bottle and I decided to try Burt’s Bees new foundation, but I wasn’t impressed. If it’s not broke, don’t fix it right? I just ordered a new one and it was about $60, but my first bottle lasted over a year….which is kinda crazy! The covereage is perfect and I find you don’t need very much.
Thai food is one of my favorite kinds of food, and two of my favorite recipes to make at home are Green Curry and Cashew Chicken. So the Green curry is my “cheaters” dish and all I do is dump a jar of Trader Joe’s green curry sauce in the corck pot with chicken breasts, mushrooms and red and green pepper. So yummy! If I have more time, I like to make cashew chicken. I can’t find the exact recipe I use, but this one seems pretty close!
I definitely recommend toasting the cashews before serving, it really brings out a delicious flavor.
While we were away for Spring Break, I devoured two books that I wanted to share with you. The first is a memoir called “Educated” and wow was this a great read!
The second book that I enjoyed was “Live Happy” by Kortney and Dave Wilson.
I recognized these two from their HGTV show, Masters of Flip. I have only seen the show a handful of times, and while their design choices don’t always align with my style, I really like this couple. I didn’t realize until I read the book, that they are both originally from Canada and each travelled to Nashville to pursue music careers, which is where they met. Their story is really interesting and they offer up some great tips on how to love your home. I greatly enjoyed reading this book!
Ricky Gervais has a new show on Netflix that I am watching and loving, it’s called After Life. I pretty much love anything Ricky Gervais comes out with, and even though the story line is a bit dark, at least so far, this show has really roped me in!
While we were on our flight to Hawaii, I was able to finally watch the movie “Greenbook” and I loved every second of it!
If you haven’t seen this movie yet, add it to your watch list, it’s a good one!
Well that about wraps up all the things I am loving lately. If you have come across anything you are loving, tell me about it in the comments below!
Thanks for reading!
